The Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines participated in a discussion of the results of the OECD project “Strengthening Security and Transparency in the Management of Critical Minerals in Central Asia,” held in Astana on March 19, 2026.

The findings of the study are important and have practical value for regulators such as the Ministry of Industry and Construction and the Ministry of Finance, as well as the business community and the civil society involved. Recommendations were adopted on responsible business practices, value chain management, and environmental risk mitigation.A separate session on improving tax policy not only facilitated the adoption of the best practices outlined in the report but also facilitated constructive dialogue between government regulators and businesses.
