“Kazakhstan Day” at China Mining 2025: Strengthening the Partnership Between Kazakhstan and China in the Mining Industry

Tianjin, China, October 23, 2025 – As part of the China Mining 2025 international exhibition and conference, a “Kazakhstan Day” session was held, organized by the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines and Metallurgy (KCMM) and Chamber member Aurora Minerals, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Chemical Industry and Production of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event served as a key platform for developing the investment potential of Kazakhstan’s mining industry, promoting new opportunities for cooperation, and fostering bilateral ties with Chinese leaders.

Representatives from Kazakhstan, including representatives of leading companies, service providers, and industry institutions, presented an overview of the current state of the mineral resources sector, promising geological exploration projects, and mineral resource development initiatives. Particular attention was paid to issues of regulatory transparency, sustainability, and the development of modern technologies in subsoil use.

“We view cooperation with Chinese partners as a key direction for scientific development. Our goal is to transform Kazakhstan’s mineral resources into the foundation for sustainable and technologically advanced projects that create added value. The example of Zijin, a pioneer of the Kazakhstan program in Kazakhstan, demonstrates the potential for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation,” noted Ruslan Baimishev, President of the Mining Chamber.

A key outcome of “Kazakhstan Day” was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines and the China Mining Association. The document provides for the development of systematic dialogue, the exchange of expertise, and the sharing of information, as well as a robust platform for cooperation between companies from both countries.
The parties expressed confidence that the signed agreement will contribute to the development of new projects, the promotion of best practices, and the stimulation of cooperation in the field of subsoil use.
