At the MINEX Kazakhstan 2026 gala dinner on April 16, the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mining traditionally presented the “Excellence in Mining Awards 2026.” In just one year, the awards have firmly established themselves as a new industry tradition—one that recognizes not mere words, but tangible results.

This year, the winning projects were of an exceptionally high standard:

  • Environmental Management — Solidcore Resources: the Assyl Orman project, which transforms degraded land into a sustainable forest ecosystem with long-term benefits for biodiversity and the climate
  • Occupational Health and Safety — AQS: systematic approach to safety — from procedures to actual on-site metrics
  • Community Engagement — Solidcore Resources: launch of CT diagnostics in Zhitikara — a simple yet powerful example of how investments directly improve people’s quality of life
  • Discovery / Innovation — Central Asian Institute for Environmental Studies (CAIES): the REWATRIX system for water reuse — a response to one of the industry’s key challenges.

These projects are very different, but they share one key thing in common: measurable results and practical value for people.

For the Chamber, this is more than just an award. It reflects what we consider important for the industry: environmental protection, community engagement, innovation, and people’s safety. We believe that solutions like these are what will shape a sustainable future for Kazakhstan’s mining industry.

We invite ALL companies to start thinking about their applications for next year right now: showcase your projects, share your results, and champion these values!
