The “Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines Excellence in Mining Awards” are designed to recognize, celebrate, and encourage pioneers who are advancing sustainability, equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI), and efficiency in the extraction, processing, and use of natural resources. These awards honor initiatives that demonstrate innovation, initiative, and adherence to best practices in mining and related industries.
Adjudicated by a panel of experts from Kazakhstan and international mining companies, the awards ensure that finalists and winners meet a high standard of excellence. The award ceremony will take place at the MINEX Kazakhstan 2025 Forum in Astana, providing a platform to showcase achievements and promote sustainable practices.
The awards focus on the following categories:
• Environmental Management
• Community Relationship Management and Engagement
• Occupational Health and Safety Management, and People Safety
• Most Significant Discovery or Best Technical Innovation Applied to Mining/Exploration
Key Dates:
• Deadline for entries: 17 March 2025 (prior to the Nauryz holiday)
• Shortlist finalists announcement: 28 March 2025
• Award ceremony: 10 April 2025 at the MINEX Kazakhstan Forum Gala Dinner in Astana
Entry Submission Guidelines:
1. Eligibility: Entries must relate to projects based in Kazakhstan and initiated within the last three years.
2. Language and Format: Submissions can be made in Russian or English and must be in Word, PDF, or PowerPoint format.
3. Submission Platform: Entries must be submitted via the designated Google Forms platform by the stated deadline.

4. Confidentiality: All data submitted will remain confidential to the Judging Committee. For shortlisted entries, public presentation materials will be agreed upon with the entry promoter before the Award Ceremony.
5. No Financial Reward: The awards are honorary, and no financial compensation is offered or implied.
Judging Criteria: The judging process is based on a points system, with the following evaluation criteria:
• Clarity of purpose and relevance to the category (10 points)
• Description of planning, execution, and achievements (10 points)
• Demonstration of innovation (20 points)
• Demonstration of initiative (20 points)
• Use of best practices or recognized methodologies (20 points)
• Overall quality of presentation (20 points)
Rules:
1. The decision of the judges is final and binding.
2. Entries will be judged based on quality, not quantity, of the information provided.
3. Submissions must adhere to all guidelines and deadlines to be considered.
